Would You Forgive Him?

I Promise I’ll Change...

By: Alyssa Marie Santiago

As we know the statistics of teen dating violence have sky rocketed over the course of years. Everyday teen girls are subjected to violence with their boyfriends. Whether they are slapped, kicked, bit, or stabbed most of these girls stick by their man’s side with a simple, “I promise I’ll change.” As soon as obsession with one another begins violence strikes.

Domestic violence has taken quite a toll in young relationships. Just look at Hollywood’s favorite fighting champions Chris Brown and Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna back in February and has made numerous attempts at trying to win her heart back. He made a very moving and sincere speech to Rihanna as he read his apology to her off a teleprompter and posted it on Youtube. He also produced his hit single “Changed Man” which made him millions of dollars. Chris Brown became so obsessed with winning Rihanna back he bought her a $150,000 apology ring. “ I am truly sorry” is engraved on the inner core of the ring. As for Rihanna, she has decided to take Chris Brown back because he is so adorable and cuddly. She says that the whole situation was blown out of proportion and he didn’t mean to beat her that badly. She can be seen wearing the $150,000 ring. The couple has been asked by MTV to appear in their own reality show called “ Changed Couple.” So it looks like Chris Brown is still welcome under her “umbrella.”

Teens all around the globe are thanking Chris Brown and Rihanna for showing that it is ok to have domestic violence in a relationship as long the man makes an apologetic song or spends thousands on gifts. So in other words ladies “Get beat and rewarded at the same time.”
